KK had an appointment on Monday the 14th for round 2 of Chemo. They did some blood work prior to starting the treatment and all looked great! His Dr. is very excited about how well Kelton is doing with the Chemo. After round 1 Kelton hasn't felt sick since being at home, though he does tend to get tired out fairly quickly. He's still enjoying the crutches as well (he must not be using them right, 'cause last time I had crutches I had some raw pits I tell ya..). Back to Monday's appointment... the Chemo was pretty quick. He got some Zofran (Ondansetron) for nausea prior to starting the Chemo, they then administered the Gemcitabine for about a half an hour. Afterwards, he had a Popsicle (sorry don't know what flavor but my $$ is on grape) Some chips, a "pink" cookie and some green tea :-) so I think the anti-nausea medications worked because I know those things mixed would make me sick with or without Chemo!! Way to go KK!! He got to watch Happy Gilmore while waiting to be released and as soon as they got the go ahead.... yep you guessed it bada bing bada boom shot from a cannon again, runaway KK on crutches!! He didn't want to wait around for anyone to change their minds and make them stay the night..and I hear he didn't slow down till he was almost to Omaha!! He did feel a little sick that evening and some today which is why he wasn't at school today (If you re a teacher reading this, it's true he didn't feel well, it wasn't the WASL Honest!!). They had an appointment for a dry run for the radiation treatments in his leg today at the UW. Those appointments start next week, every day radiation on his leg/hip.
